Dale French Grinnan, age 73, of Osgood, Indiana, passed away on October 10, 2026, at his home.
He was born on December 30, 1952, in Fredericksburg, Virginia, the son of Jesse and Bertha (Gallahan) Grinnan. Dale married Joanna (Alford) Grinnan, who preceded him in death.
To know Dale, often called Uncle Dale, was to know someone who truly loved people. He was talkative and goofy, always ready with a warm smile. He had a deep heart for others and a passionate faith. Dale loved studying and discussing the Bible, and he used his words to uplift, encourage, and speak life into everyone he met. Outside of conversation and time with loved ones, he was an avid fisherman and golfer who found peace outdoors. He also cherished quiet moments lost in a good book. Dale especially loved being “Popi” to his grandchildren. We believe he is now joined with his wife in heaven, rejoicing together.
Dale is survived by his daughter, Kadee (Koen) Novinger; his grandchildren, Miles, Coastal, and Joella Novinger; and his brother, Dennis Grinnan. He was preceded in death by his wife, Joanna; his parents; and his brothers, Douglas Grinnan and John Grinnan.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday, October 16, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. at Church on the Rock, 407 N Township Line Road, Batesville, Indiana.
Please feel free to leave a memory or message of comfort for Dale’s family in the online guestbook at www.meyersfuneralhomes.com.
