The Indiana Association of Track and Cross Country Coaches has announced its Academic All-State honorees for the 2021 Cross Country Season.
To qualify, the junior or senior athlete must have been on a sectional roster and carry a minimum 3.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale. In addition, seniors must have scored 1200 or better on the SAT or have a composite ACT of at least 26. Juniors have the same qualifications as seniors but also have a PSAT test option with a minimum score of 1140. Lastly, an athlete’s head coach must be a member of the IATCCC.
Local student-athletes earning First Team Academic All-State include:
- Batesville’s Maria Lopez and Sarah Ripperger.
- East Central’s Michael Schwebach.
- Greensburg’s Emily Mangels.
- Lawrenceburg’s Alyson Galey.
- Rushville’s Sophia Kemple and Meredith Lawrence
- South Decatur’s Elizabeth Flessner.
- South Ripley’s Lanie Nicholson.
- Switzerland County’s Alisha Detmer.
Local student-athletes receiving Academic All-State Honorable Mention status include:
- Batesville’s Sophie Myers, Madison Rahshulte, Kyler Daulton, Ean Loichinger and Benjamin Moster.
- East Central’s Hannah Doan.
- Franklin County’s Katherine Apsley.
- Lawrenceburg’s Ashton Rasnake.
- South Decatur’s Bridget Nobbe, Samantha Storm, Jack Hamilton and Trevor Newby.
- South Ripley’s Emily Campbell.
