(Milan, IN) – A spill forced the closing of State Road 101 near Milan for several hours late Friday night and into early Saturday.
Officials say a non-hazardous mud or dirt substance was reported spilled on the road south of town around 10 p.m.
INDOT scraped the road and firefighters sprayed about 1,500 gallons of water to finish the job.
Crews were on the scene for almost four hours.
The spill did not result in any accidents or injuries.
The source of the substance remains under investigation.
In addition to INDOT, the Milan Volunteer Fire Department received assistance from the Ripley County Sheriff’s Office, Milan Police Department and Ripley County EMA.
