DEARBORN COUNTY, IN — Area residents are being reminded to avoid flooded areas after Miller-York volunteer firefighters were called early Friday morning to a submerged vehicle.

Crews responded to West Tanners Creek at the cross on Shale Road just before 1 am.

All of the car’s occupants were out of the vehicle by the time rescuers arrived.

Lawrenceburg EMS provided medical attention to the occupants.

Rescuers are reminding residents not to cross high or swift-moving water because doing so could result in injury or death.

In addition to the Miller-York Volunteer Fire Department and Lawrenceburg EMS, the Dearborn County Sheriff’s Office and Manchester Fire Department also responded.
