Crews Respond to Aspen Place Gas Leak

(Greensburg, IN) – Emergency crews from several agencies were called Friday morning to a gas leak at Aspen Place Health Campus at 2320 N. Montgomery Road in Greensburg.

It was around 10:23 a.m. when Decatur County Dispatch received the initial report.

First responders determined the leak originated in the furnace room.

As a precaution, all residents and employees were safely evacuated and relocated to other facilities in the area.

Responding agencies included the Greensburg Fire Department, Greensburg Police Department, Decatur County EMS, Decatur County Emergency Management Agency, Letts Volunteer Fire Department, and the Decatur County Sheriff’s Office.

City officials are also recognizing the Willows of Greensburg, Arbor Grove Village and Morning Breeze for welcoming and assisting residents during the evacuation.

Additional support and assistance was provided by Greensburg Community Schools, which supplied buses for resident transportation; McDonald’s, which provided meals for first responders; and CenterPoint Energy, Decatur County Memorial Hospital and TDS Towing.
