Columbus, IN—A report of a suspicious person on Wednesday morning landed a Freetown man in jail after officers determined he gave them a false name and they later located methamphetamine in his clothing.
At approximately 6:50 a.m., CPD officers responded to the area of 11th Street and Washington Street in regards to a man acting suspiciously around a vehicle. Officers located the man a short time later and determined that he gave them a false name.
The man was taken into custody and officers confirmed his identity as Donovan A. Martin, 22, of Freetown. While searching Martin, officers reportedly located methamphetamine in his pants pockets. Martin was transported to the Bartholomew County Jail on the following preliminary charges of Possession of Methamphetamine and False Informing.
