Coroner: Dearborn County woman died from Fetanyl overdose

COLUMBUS, OH — A coroner’s report has determined that the deaths of a Dearborn County native and another Ohio State University student last month were caused by Fentanyl.

The report determined that Greendale resident Jessica Lopez’s death was an accident.

Lopez and two other students were taken to Columbus, Ohio area hospitals after police responded to a 911 call.

Lopez and a second student later died, while the third student was treated and released.

Around the time of the overdoses, health and public safety officials in Columbus and at Ohio State issued warnings about Adderall pills possibly laced with Fentanyl.

The 22-year-old Lopez was studying Computer and Information Science at OSU.
