Contract secured to correct Big Cedar Creek violations

Brookville, In. — Environmental damage violations in Franklin County are expected to cost taxpayers $37,400. The contract with Indianapolis-based SJCA, Inc. will fix the five violations assessed when county workers worked to re-channel Big Cedar Creek and unauthorized work in Gobles Creek during the summer of 2017.

The work was expedited in order to keep a nearby roadway from washing away.

Once the violations are corrected a federal grant of $154,000 will be used to make permanent repairs.
