Constance Jo Bean

Constance Jo Bean, age 65, passed away Thursday January 13 in San Antonio, Texas. Connie was born on August 9, 1956 the daughter of Harold “Chub” and Geneva (Caplinger) Bean in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Connie grew up and attended Jac-Cen-Del High School, graduating with the class of 1974. She received the John Phillips Sousa award in high school and was an accomplished singer and flautist. She graduated from Indiana Central University (University of Indianapolis) with a major in music.

She was very proud of her accomplishments with the Central House Players including The Music Man, Hello Dolly, Mame and many more. Over the years she worked as a teacher, child care professional, actress, real estate agent, and in sales & marketing. She was the general manager of Filmland Classic’s magazine Freaky Monsters for nearly 20 years with her husband Ray Ferry.

She raised her 3 sons William “Aaron”, Shawn & Christopher Sutherlin. Over the years she lived in many places including Osgood, Indianapolis, Lansing MI, California, Tombstone AZ & San Antonio TX.

Connie enjoyed music & time with friends. She had a very bright personality and was always aiming to bring joy to the people around her.

Connie is survived by her husband Ray Ferry, sons William “Aaron” Sutherlin, Shawn (Kristen) Sutherlin, Christopher (Sarah) Sutherlin, grandchildren Tyler, Weston, Geneva, Penny & Nevaeh Sutherlin, brother Roger (Theresa) Murray, sister Vicky Murray and many extended family members.

Graveside services will be held on Monday January 24 at 1 pm, at Cliff Hill Cemetery in Versailles.  Online condolences may be placed at Nealsfuneralhome.net
