Connersville house fire, vandalism investigated by FBI as hate crime

CONNERSVILLE, IN — The FBI is looking into a house fire and vandalism case in Connersville as both arson and a hate crime.

The fire broke out early Friday morning at the home of Connersville City Councilman Tommy Williams.

Investigators say a racial slur was spray-painted on the home’s back patio.

No one was home at the time of the incident but two pets died in the blaze.
