(Greensburg, IN) – The Greensburg Police Department will host the Ruff Runner 5K tomorrow (Saturday) morning at Rebekah Park.
Check-in begins at 9:30 with a K-9 demonstration at 10, and the race starting at 10:30.
Proceeds benefit the department’s K-9 program.
GPD currently has three K-9 officers – a narcotics dog and two drug-sniffing and tracking K-9s.
Several officers have expressed an interest in adding a fourth K-9 – a therapy/mental health dog.
Money raised at the event will go toward that effort.

The 5K will lead up to the Public Safety Community Cookout starting at Noon.
These cookouts were established in 2021 to engage residents with first responders in a positive setting.
They are free and open to the public, and are put on by the City of Greensburg and its police and fire departments.
