Columbus Bryce Pilot, age 26, passed away on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, in Cincinnati, Ohio. Born on December 8, 1999, to Casey Pilot and Deborah Pye in San Diego, California.
It is with great honor and privilege to have spent these last few weeks with Columbus. From the moment he and his best friend, Bo (his golden retriever) arrived, his joy and happiness were a pleasure and were shared not only by his family he already knew – especially his dad – but also by everyone who was meeting him for the first time.
His smile, laughter, and kind heart made an impression on everyone he met, and it was impossible not to love him. The only thing we need to change was his love for the Pittsburg Steelers, but we were working on that.
There are no words to describe how much he was loved or how deeply he will be missed. We are all so thankful for every moment we were given with him.
He is survived by his loving father, Casey (Kim) Pilot and mother Deborah Pye. He was cherished by his paternal grandmother, Mary Pilot. Columbus also leaves behind his brothers, Corey (Megan) Morris and Jason (Sydney) Morris, along with his beloved nieces and nephew: Annslee, Rhett, and Maisie. The family circle is further enriched by many uncles, aunts, and cousins who will carry forward the memory of Columbus with fondness and respect.
Among those who preceded him in death is his paternal grandfather, the late Glenn Pilot, who’s legacy lives on through family, and his maternal grandparents.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. with a Celebration of Life beginning at 7:00 p.m., with Kyle Danemayer officiating, all at Jackman Hensley Funeral Home located at 215 East Broadway Street, Harrison, Ohio 45030.
