Indianapolis, In. — As fans of the Indianapolis Colts deal with the loss of one their players, Indiana State Police now allege Jackson was killed by a suspected illegal immigrant.
Investigators say Edwin Jackson, 26, of the Colts, and Jeffery Monroe, 54, the driver of a rideshare vehicle, were killed when a vehicle driven by Manuel Orrego-Savala struck and killed them along I-70 eastbound in Marion
County.
Immigration records show Orrego-Savala is a resident of Guatemala by birth and has been deported twice in the last ten years. Records indicate he was deported in 2007 and again in 2009. Federal officials have placed a hold on Orrego-Savala and continue their investigation.
