City leaders re-up ‘Military Recognition Banner Program’

Batesville, In. —  The City of Batesville proudly honors the brave men and women who have served in the United States Armed Forces through the free Military Recognition Banner Program.

Due to the overwhelming response, City Council approved funding in September for an additional 110 military banners which will be displayed beginning in Fall 2018. The new banners will be rotated with the currently installed banners for consecutive years.

“This has been our way of showing appreciation to the local servicemen and women who have done so much for our country,” said Mayor Mike Bettice. “These banners are one way that we simply can say thank you.”

Community members are welcome to submit a service member, living or deceased, who lives in the Batesville area. An application is attached to this news release and is available at the Memorial Building or online at www.batesvilleindiana.us.

Donations are accepted for this free program. Submissions are chosen on a first-come, first-serve basis and if the service member is living, he or she must approve their participation in the program.
