Cynthia Sue “Cindy” Strunk, 62, of Versailles passed away at 11:20 p.m., Friday, June 14, 2024 at her home. She was born in Batesville on June 28, 1961, the daughter of George and Betty Goldey Grubbs. She was married to David Strunk on June 19, 1982 and he survives. Other survivors include her brother Michael (Ellen) Metcalf of New Hampshire; four sisters Sherryll Bowling of Harrison, Ohio, Linda (Tom) Guyer of Bowling Green, Ohio, Karen Cervone of Pittsburgh, and Debbie (Ernest) Walston of Versailles; her mother-in-law Evelyn Strunk of Milan; brothers-in-law Charlie Strunk and Ron (Amy) Strunk both of Milan; sisters-in-law Kathy Davidson of West Harrison, Sharon (Wade) Haney of Harrison, Joan (David) Collins of Osgood, and Wendy (Steve) Bergman of Milan. She was preceded in death by her parents. Mrs. Strunk was a 1979 graduate of South Ripley High School. She was well known in the community, being a bus driver for the handicapped children at South Ripley as well as working in the elementary school cafeteria. She had also previously worked at Valeo in Greensburg, Ohio Rod and UPS in Versailles, and was the bookkeeper for her husband’s construction business. Cindy enjoyed visiting the casinos and loved being on vacation and traveling. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 20 at 3 p.m. at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles with Doug Norman officiating. Burial will be in the Cliff Hill Cemetery. Visitation will also be on Thursday beginning at 1 p.m. Memorials may be given to St. Jude’s Research Center or the Bridge of Hope House of Cherith in care of the funeral home.
