Charles M. “Buffalo” Conner, of Connersville, was born on May 1, 1956 in New Castle, the son of Dalton and Della York Conner. He worked for Duke Energy for 38 years in substation maintenance and retired in July of 2017. After being together almost 23 years, Charles surprised his love, Pamela Bates with a marriage proposal and on May 8, 2015 they tied the knot. He enjoyed dogs; training German Shepherds for 34 years, and was part of the Everton Water Board. On Wednesday, March 21, 2018 at the age of 61, Charles passed away at Reid Health in Richmond.
Those surviving who will cherish Charles’ memory include his wife, Pamela Conner; son, Nathan (Sarah) Bates of Fairland; daughter, Ashley Parrish of Greenwood; 2 grandchildren, Rylend and Landon Bates; one sister, Jerrie Hinson of Las Vegas, NV, and one brother, Phillip (Susan) Conner of New Castle. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Larry Lamance and a sister, Patricia Pierce.
