Charles Joseph “Chuck” Dorwick, 93, of New Albany formerly of Milan, passed away Friday, March 21, 2025, at University of Louisville Hospital. Chuck was born on Sunday, December 6, 1931, in Chicago; son of Leo and Charlotte (Cerclewski) Dorwick. Chuck married the love of his life, Margaret “Peg” (Flaherty) Dorwick on August 4, 1956, and she preceded him in death on February 24, 2016. Chuck retired after 39 ½ years from Cinch Manufacturing Company in Chicago where he was a tool and die manager. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Milan and was also a former Deacon at the church as well. He was a member of the Milan Lions Club, National Office of the JAYCEE of Chicago, a lifetime member of the NRA, and the Sons of American Legion at the Milan American Legion. Chuck had a passion for golfing, bowling, and being on amateur radio, “WJ9N.” He also enjoyed playing euchre, bridge, chess, and cribbage. Most of all Chuck cherished spending time and making memories with his family.
Chuck will be missed by his sons Keith (John Kelley) Dorwick of Port Angeles, Washington and Kevin (Cathy) Dorwick of Galena, Illinois; daughter Karin Selga of Louisville; and grandchildren Jacquie (Luke) Thoma, Greg Dorwick, and Cody Selga.
Chuck was preceded in death by his parents Leo and Charlotte Dorwick; wife Peg Dorwick; brothers Randy and Frank Dorwick; and sisters Irene Ladendorf, Adelle Negri, and Geraldine Hrabe.
Graveside services will be held in the near future, dates and times will be updated. Memorials may be given in honor of Chuck to St. Paul Lutheran Church.
