Jim Metzger, age 84, of Harrison, Ohio, passed away September 1, 2024, in Cincinnati, Ohio. Born November 29, 1939, in Jasper, Indiana, the son of Francis Charles and Mary Catherine (Heim) Metzger.
Jim was a 1957 Graduate of Jasper High School and served his country honorably in the United States Army, 2nd Armored Division. Worked for Kroger as a meat cutter for over 40 years and married his wife, Janice Neyer, on November 15, 1969, at St. Jude Church in Cincinnati, Ohio. Member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church and VFW Post #7570 in Harrison.
Survived by his loving wife Janice for over 54 years. Father of Phil (Kristine) Metzger, Ron (Jocelyn) Metzger, and Debbie (Bill) Brunner. Grandfather of Matthew Ryan, Julianna Adelaide, Joshua Phillip, and Emily Marie. Also survived by his brothers Edward, Paul, and Frank Metzger, Jr.
Preceded in death by his parents Francis Charles and Mary Catherine Metzger.
Visitation will be held Thursday, September 5, 2024, from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Jackman Hensley Funeral Home, 215 East Broadway Street, Harrison, Ohio 45030. A mass of Christian burial will be Friday, September 6, 2024, 12:00 P.M. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 10010 Carolina Trace Road, Harrison, Ohio 45030. Burial will follow at St. Joseph New Cemetery, 4500 Foley Road, Cincinnati, Ohio 45238 with military honors provided by the United States Army and the Harrison Honor Guard.
