Charles E. “Sonny” Winkle, age 86, of Brookville, Indiana died Monday, December 14, 2020 at his residence in Brookville, Indiana.
Born January 9, 1934 in Randolph County, Indiana he was one of three sons born to the late Charles P. & Hazel M. (Campbell) Winkle. On June 8, 1981 he and the former Anita M. Hall were united in marriage, and she survives.
Sonny was retired, having worked at General Motors Delco Battery Division in Muncie, Indiana for many years. In his leisure time he enjoyed the outdoors, camping hunting and fishing.
He was a member of the Metamora Church of God.
In addition to Anita, his wife of nearly 40 years, survivors include a daughter, Angela Jean Winkle of Brookville, Indiana, a son, Charles E. “Butch” Winkle of Carmel, Indiana, a step-son, Brook Allen Hall of Longmont, Colorado, four grandchildren, five great-grandchildren.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Jim Winkle and Oscar Winkle.
Family & friends may visit from 12:00 Noon until 1:00 P.M. on Friday, December 18, 2020 at Phillips & Meyers Funeral Home, 1025 Franklin Avenue, Brookville.
Rev. Wayne Ison will officiate the Funeral Services at 1:00 P.M. on Friday, December 18, 2020, at Phillips & Meyers Funeral Home, burial will follow in Old Franklin Cemetery in Brookville.
