Charles Andrew Pennington Sr.

Charles Andrew Pennington Sr., 78, of Aurora, Indiana, passed away Saturday, July 6, 2019 in Aurora, Indiana.

He was born February 11, 1941 in Bluefield, WV, son of the late Charles Oakey Pennington and Patricia Alma Odelia (Larimore) Pennington.

Charles worked as an Independent Truck Driver. He was a former member of the Aurora Lions Club.

Charles enjoyed fishing, and cutting wood. In his younger years, he enjoyed hunting. Charles also liked working jigsaw puzzles, and sewing, and he recently passed time coloring adult coloring books. He was an Elvis fan, enjoyed karaoke and he had a large die cast car collection. Charles loved Disney World, and wished he could live there. He was part owner of Joyce’s Country Kitchen. He loved to cook, his specialty’s were gravy and cakes. Charles also enjoyed doing stone work with his son in law. Mostly, he loved his family, especially his grandkids.

Charles is survived by his children, Elva Joyce “Jodie” (Richard) Kast of Osgood, IN, Charles A. Pennington Jr. of Aurora, IN, Angelina Dawn (Steve) Welz of Aurora, IN., Kelly S. (Valerie) Pennington of Chesapeake City, MD and daughter in law, Jodie Osborn Pennington; grandchildren, Charlie Kast, Dustin Kast, Andrew H. Pennington, Ashley Welz (fiancé, Seth McFarland), Amanda Welz, Alex Welz, Skylar Pennington, Phoenix Pennington, Kayden Pennington, Max Pennington; great grandchildren, Braydyn, Havanna, River, Kellin and Kailyn.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and his loving wife of 42 years, Elva Joyce Pennington.

Friends will be received Thursday, July 11, 2019, 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm at the Rullman Hunger Funeral Home, 219 Mechanic Street, Aurora, Indiana.

Services will be held at the funeral home Friday at 11:00 am with Rev. Richard Kast officiating.

Interment will follow in the River View Cemetery, Aurora, Indiana.
