The North Decatur Chargers competed in the Mid Hoosier Conference Cross Country Championships on Saturday and claimed 3rd place overall as a team. Junior Eli Weisenbach ran to a 7th place finish in a time of 18:39 earning All-Conference honors for the first time in his career. Just missing out by one place but running a new PR in 18:54 was Jackson White in 11th. Harper Gunn continued his consistent running crossing the finish line in 14th with a solid time of 19:38. Freshman Jayden Lawrence claimed a top 20 finish setting a new PR in 21:03 with fellow Charger Cletus Rennelamp crossing just behind in 21:04. Sam Cathey ran a great race in 21:56 as his returns from injury and freshman Clayton Ruf turned in another good run with a time of 22:37. Teagan Stiecker ran a hard race with a time of 24:17 and fellow Junior Jake Demitt also ran well with a time of 29:15.
The Chargers will be back in action on Saturday, October 19, as they travel to Brown County to compete in the Sectional.
