Chargers Suffer Second Defeat In A Row, Losing 26-24 to Rushville

The Chargers fought better this week but had a similar outcome to last week when they traveled to Rushville and lost 26-24.  The Chargers scored first in the contest on a 40-yard field goal from Aiden O’Dell, but the Lions answered back quickly and thus began the back-and-forth of the contest.  The Chargers both teams would find the end zone again in the first quarter, but the Lions found it twice more in the second quarter to enter the half with the score 20-10 in favor of the Lions.  The Chargers answered back in the third quarter, finding the end zone on a quarterback keeper after a stout performance by the Charger defense.  The Lions would find the end zone again in the fourth with a sack-fumble returned to the end zone.  The Chargers, however, did not give up and Mason Morris found Kaden Muckerheide for an 18-yard touchdown pass with 1:06 left on the clock, which brought the contest within 2.  The Chargers kicked and recovered the ensuing onside kick but it was brought back on a penalty flag for offsides against the kicker.  The Lions would then kneel out the clock to win the game.  This will be the Lions’ first victory in the series between these teams.   The Chargers next face North Davies at home for Homecoming this week.
