 The North Decatur cross country team toed the line this weekend to conclude the month of August. After a lightning delay in the annual Rushville Invitation, the team started the race and hope to continue to improve as the season goes on. (Meet recap is below)
The North Decatur cross country team toed the line this weekend to conclude the month of August. After a lightning delay in the annual Rushville Invitation, the team started the race and hope to continue to improve as the season goes on. (Meet recap is below)
Earning a top 20 finish was Eli Wesienbach with a time of 19:26. Jackson White ran another outstanding race 20:34 followed by Harper Gunn with his season best time of 20:41. Sam Cathey 22:45 continues to turn in consistent times and freshamn Jayden Lawrence returing from a minor injury ran a 23:27. Cletus Rennekamp finished in 23:32 while Teagan Striecker continues to lower his PR with another career best time of 26:08. Freshman Clayton Ruf broke the 27 minute barrier for the first time in his career finishing with a new PR of 26:59. Junior Jake Demitt, returning from an ankle injury finished in 31:28.
Leading the charge for the North girls was Dorothy Robbins 25:31 and Norah Amberger 25:57. Junior Ava Lecher ran her fastest time of the season in 26:18 followed by freshman Brooklyn White setting a new PR with a tremendous run of 27:27. Jewel Verseman crossed teh finish line in 28:36 followed closely by freshman Jessie Biltz in 28:45. Olivia Reisman ran a 29:21, Emerson Gunn 29:34, Lauren Miller 29:56 and Senior Cecilia Barber finishing in 34:31.
