The North Decatur Chargers Boys C-Team tipped off their season at home Thursday night against the Greensburg Pirates. The Chargers struggled early, falling behind 24-4 by halftime.
Simon Barber and Henry Kinker provided the only first-half points for North Decatur, each contributing a bucket. The Pirates, meanwhile, capitalized on the Chargers’ defensive lapses to build a commanding lead.
North Decatur found its rhythm in the second half, outscoring their first-half performance but unable to close the gap. Kinker led the third-quarter charge with five points, supported by Kipton Ruf and Harper Gunn, who each added two points.
The fourth quarter saw a stronger offensive push, with Clayton Ruf knocking down a three-pointer and a layup. Aiden Luttel and Caleb May each added three-pointers, showcasing the Chargers’ determination until the final buzzer.
Final score: Greensburg 40, North Decatur 24.
The Chargers will look to bounce back in their next game, a home matchup against Batesville on Saturday, December 7th, at 10:00 AM.
