The North Decatur Chargers C-Team Boys Basketball squad pulled off a thrilling overtime victory Monday night, defeating the Knightstown Panthers 36-33 in a hard-fought battle.
The Chargers started strong, jumping to a 10-3 lead in the first quarter. However, the Panthers rallied to seize a 17-14 halftime advantage. North Decatur stumbled in the third quarter, as turnovers allowed Knightstown to hold a 26-25 edge heading into the final period.
Refusing to back down, the Chargers fought back and regained the lead before the Panthers forced overtime in a dramatic finish. In the extra period, the Chargers’ defense held Knightstown to just three points. Kipton Ruf’s early layup and a clutch 4-for-5 performance at the free-throw line sealed the win, marking the Chargers’ second consecutive victory.
