Carris Thomas Richardson, age 92, of Laurel, Indiana died Thursday, November 16, 2023 at Christ Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Born November 29, 1930, in Hamilton, Ohio he was the son of the late Jessie & Hattie (Rose) Richardson. He was united in marriage to the former Dorothy Jane Bennett, and she preceded him in death on June 14, 2012.
Carris was retired having been self employed for much of his life in construction. In his leisure time he enjoyed hunting for ginseng, panning for gold, and metal detecting. He was a member of the Indiana Sheriff’s Association.
Survivors include ten children, Darlene Shepard of Rushville, Indiana, Timothy Carris Richardson of Shirley, Indiana, Thomas Luther Richardson of Connersville, Indiana, Gloria JoAnn Jones of Laurel, Indiana, William Paul Richardson of Metamora, Indiana, Terry Wayne Richardson of Laurel, Indiana, Nathan J. Richardson of Connersville, Indiana, Daniel Joseph Richardson of Laurel, Indiana, Silas D. Richardson of Brookville, Indiana and Carris Smith of Brookville, Indiana; a sister, Thelma Lewis of Buena Vista, Indiana, a brother, Earl ‘Sonny’ Richardson of Newark, New Jersey as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, and wife Dorothy Jane, he was preceded in death by siblings, Dorothy, Edith, Gladys, Melvin, Wallace, Mildred and Samuel.
Family & friends may visit from 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. on Tuesday, November 21, 2023, at Metamora Church of God, 20152 U.S. Highway 52, Laurel, Indiana.
Pastor Wayne Ison will officiate the funeral services at 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, November 21, 2023 at the Metamora Church of God. Burial will follow in Stipps Hill Cemetery.
