The 8th Grade Cardinals played the St. Mary’s Aurora Bulldogs on Thursday, December 10th at home. The Cardinals battled through a physical game to earn their fourth victory of the year by a score of 23-20.
The Cardinals overcame adversity when they lost one starter to injury and another to fouls. The Cardinals now move to 3 wins and 1 loss in games decided by 3 points or less. They did a good job of finding a way to win.
The Cardinals were led in scoring by Henry Wanstrath with 7 points, followed by Sam Laloge with 6 points, Adam Meer and Ryan Duerstock with 4 points, and Max Amberger and Christian Mack each scored 1 point. Duerstock scored all 4 of his points in the 4th quarter while also collecting 3 rebounds and 1 assist. Laloge had a great all-around game with 12 rebounds, 4 steals, and 3 blocks to go along with his 6 points. Mack gave great effort all game long leading to his 12 rebounds and 1 steal.
The Cardinals next game is at home on Thursday, December 17th when they will take on the Raiders from South Ripley at 6:00 pm.
