The St. Louis 8th Grade Boys Basketball team continued their impressive season, improving to 13-2 with a commanding 39-22 victory over East Central. After a two-week layoff, the Cardinals showed some early rust, with both teams struggling to find their rhythm in a low-scoring first quarter that ended tied at 5-5.
The Cardinals found their groove in the second quarter, using an 11-4 run to take a 16-9 lead into halftime. They came out firing in the third, going on a dominant 16-3 run to put the game out of reach at 32-12. From there, the Cardinals cruised to victory, showcasing both their offensive and defensive prowess.
Luke Richardson led the team with an outstanding 17 points, while Hunter Young contributed 9 points. Cam Anderson added 7 points, Ryan McGuire chipped in 4 points, and Grant Hartwell rounded out the scoring with 2 points.
