Cardinals 5th Graders Win Home Tourney-6th Grade Birds Place 3rd

The 5th Grade Boys Basketball team won the St. Louis Tournament Saturday. The Cardnals played St. Michael’s in the first game and won with a final score of 31-24. Jaiden Kuria scored 20 points, Caleb Mohr had 9 and Ben Greiwe had 2 points. St. Louis played played Milan in the championship game and won with a final score of 28-21. Jaiden Kuria scored 16 points, Caleb Mohr had 6, Jack Freeland had 4 and Ben Greiwe had 2 points. Come out and cheer on the boys Monday (12-03) 6:00 PM as they take on St. Nicholas at home. The 6th Grade St. Louis Cardinals hosted a 4 school tournament on Saturday, December 1st and finished in third place.  In their first game they took on St. Michael’s and ended up losing by a score  of 26-6.  The Cardinals played great defense in the first half as the score was 7-2.  Ben Miller and Sam Laloge ended up with 4 points and 2 points respectively.  Laloge led the way with 5 rebounds followed by Ryan Duerstock (3), Santiago Schutte (2), Adam Meer (2), and Max Amberger (2).  In the Cardinals second game against St. Nicholas they came away with a 22-20 win to avenge the loss to St. Nicholas earlier in the year!  St. Louis had 7 of their 10 players in the scoring column led by Ben Miller with 8 points who also hit the go ahead basket near the end of the game.  Scoring for the Cardinals were Adam Meer with 4 points and Sam Laloge, Ryan Duerstock, Henry Wanstrath, Sully Hill, and Max Amberger each with 2 points.  Laloge and Amberger each had 5 rebounds followed by Meer (3), Duerstock (2), Marc Meneses (1), and Zavier Tekulve (1).  The Cardinals had Amberger, Wanstrath, Miller, and Tekulve all record an assist.  The boys have now won 3 out of their last 4 games.  The Cardinals are back in action on Monday, December 3rd when they will host St. Nicholas at 6:00 PM.
