Butlerville man arrested for possession of explosive devices

Greensburg, In. — A Butlerville man is facing charges after Greensburg police found an explosive device during a routine traffic stop Sunday evening.

Reports indicate Scott James Knutz, 18, was stopped after several moving violations were observed around 7 p.m. After a police canine alerted to the possibility of illegal substances in the vehicle a search was conducted. Knutz told police he had a small amount of marijuana in the vehicle.

During the search, police found three unassembled pipe bombs in the vehicle. The Indiana State Police bomb squad transported the devices from the scene.

Knutz was taken to the Decatur County Jail.
