The 7th Grade Batesville Bulldogs defeated Connersville Monday night by a score of 28-25. Chris Lewis led the Bulldogs offensively with 9 points, followed by Sam Johnson with 6, and Gus Prickel with 5. Conner Drake added 4, and Brendan Heiser and Jack Grunkemeyer both chipped in 2. The 7th grade Dogs are now 4 and 0 on the year and will play again Tuesday night at North Decatur.
The 8th Grade Batesville Basketball Team suffered its second loss of the season by a score of 49-12. The Bulldogs were led in scoring by Bryson Bonelli with 6, followed by Grant Peters (3), Cole Pride (2), and Jackson Renck (1). The team struggled scoring offensively against a very talented Connersville team that led the entire night. The 8th grade team did take advantage of opportunities at the free throw line going 5 for 6, outshooting the Spartans. Now 2-2 on the year, the Bulldogs head into North Decatur hoping to turn things back around.
