Bulldogs Losing To Trojans

Even though Batesville collected nine hits to East Central’s eight, they still fell 7-3 on Thursday.

In the first inning, the Bulldogs got their offense started. Sam Voegele doubled on the first pitch of the at-bat, scoring two runs.

East Central pulled away for good with five runs in the third inning. In the third, Carson Koelling singled on a 3-1 count, scoring two runs.

Tyler Dickerson got the win for East Central. The fireballer allowed nine hits and three runs over seven innings, striking out one and walking one.

Jack Grunkemeyer took the loss for the Bulldogs. The righty went two innings, allowing four runs on three hits and striking out two.

Batesville scattered nine hits in the game. Calvin Sherwood, Trey Peters, and Travis Lecher all managed multiple hits for Batesville. East Central tallied eight hits. Reid Cleary and Sam Bond all managed multiple hits for East Central.

The loss takes the Bulldogs to 4-3 and 2-2 in the EIAC. Batesville will travel to Kentucky for this weekend’s Doc Morris Invitational. The Bulldogs are slated to play Boone County, Ryle, and Beechwood. All games are played at Beechwood High School.
