The Batesville High School cross country team’s 2018 season came to a close on Saturday as they competed in the 20 team Semi-State meet at Shelbyville. The girls placed a solid 13th as the boys struggled a bit and came in 19th. Despite the wind, we had one person set a personal best to end her season and that was sophomore, Trysta Vierling. Way to go Trysta! Overall, it was a tremendous season and I hated seeing it come to an end. The athletes put in a lot of miles and dedication since June for their season to be as successful as it was. They were a fun group to train and work with. As we wish our 5 seniors good luck and thank them for their leadership, we have a solid group coming back who are already setting goals for next year. Congratulations to Megan Cole of South Ripley and Brenner Hanna of Greensburg for qualifying individually to the State tournament in Terre Haute this coming Saturday. Thanks to everyone for all their support throughout the season. It was good one! Courtesy of Bulldogs Coach Lisa Gausman.
