The Batesville Bulldogs hosted the County track tournament Thursday night and the weather started off almost perfect and the Bulldogs took advantage of it. The rain almost held off but started to come down during the last several events. By the end of the night, the boys were crowned individual County Champions in 14 of the 16 events and the girls were individual County Champions in 11 of the 16 events.
Batesville was also able to crown not only one, but 4 boys as MVP of the meet. Four Bulldogs tied for the MVP honors, they were, Senior Gabe Gunter, Juniors Eli Pierson and Benjamin Moster and Freshmen Deacon Hamilton. Each of them scored 15 points for the team.
The boys won with an impressive victory scoring 125 points to Jac-Cen-Del’s 45 points, South Ripley came in 2nd with 39 and Milan-29. The girls also won with a 110 lead over South Ripley’s 58 points with Jac-Cen-Cel closely following with 54 and Milan was 4th with 16.
