The 7th grade Batesville Bulldogs Basketball team picked up their fifth win of the season over a talented Greendale team. It was a close game, but Batesvillle pulled it out 41 to 38 at the final buzzer.
Leading is scoring for Batesville was Cole Werner with 14, Ean Loichinger with 11 and Eli Pierson with 8. Also adding points for Batesville were Frank Moorman and Travis Lecher with 4 each. Ean Loichinger added an extra spark to the team bringing down 7 rebounds, getting 3 steals, and creating 3 jump balls. This spark spread to Eli Pierson and Frank Moorman as they both pulled down 7 rebounds also.
The 7th grade dogs are now 5 and 2 on the season.
What a night for Batesville middle school basketball! Both teams came away with an exciting victory and are now 5-2.
The 8th grade played a great game on both sides of the floor. RJ Powell led Batesville with 20 points. Mason Barker added 10 and played outstanding defense. Peters hit a big three and added 2 clutch free throws for 5 total. Sievert, Sherwood, and Peetz added 4 a piece. Moorman was a scrapper on defense with several forced turnovers and a big 3. Greendale was forced to foul at the end where Hinners hit 2 free throws to seal the victory.
