Bulldogs And Lady Trojans Capture EIAC Track Crown

Congratulations to both the boys and the girls Batesville Track teams as they traveled to Rushville and performed awesome last night at the 2021 EIAC Conference Championship meet.

The boys pulled out a victory edging ahead of East Central by only 5.33 points.  The meet was back and forth all night with Franklin County also in the hunt, but it was the Bulldogs who brought home the championship, scoring 133.33 points to the Trojans 127.  Franklin County took 3rd with 115.  They were followed by Connersville-75.33, Rushville-63.33, Greensburg-43, Lawrenceburg-35, and South Dearborn-31. 

Even with the girls losing 2 of their top sprinters to injury, they put forth a great team effort and took EIAC Runner up, just pulling ahead of Greensburg by 2.5 points.  East Central girls were crowned the champions with an impressive 172 points. Batesville scored 115.5 to Greensburg’s 113.  They were followed by Lawrenceburg-65, Franklin County-50, Connersville-42.5, Rushville-35, and South Dearborn-29. 

The girls 4 x 800m relay team started off the night with not only a victory but broke the school record set in 2017 by Liz Loichinger, Haylee Harmeyer, Emma. Gausman and Sarah Poltrack (9:56.38) by just over a half a second running 9:55.72. They were: Kaylie Raver, Ava Hanson, Katie Olsen and Megan Allgeier.  Congratulations ladies!  

Batesville also had several other individual Conference Champions and several that took multiple honors and they were:
Benjamin Moster: 4 x 800m relay(8:29.89), 1600m run(4:43.65), 800m run (2:02.04)
JJ Kuisel: 4 x 800m relay, 400m dash (50.97)
Ean Loichinger: 4 x 800m relay, 3200m run (10:20.59)
Katie Olsen: 4 x 800m relay(9:55.72), 400m dash (1:03.67)
Daren Smith: 4 x 800m relay
Gabe Gunter: high jump (6’2″)
Kaylie Raver: 4 x 800m relay
Ava Hanson: 4 x 800m relay
Megan Allgeier: 4 x 800m relay
