Bulldogs 5th Grade Dirt Road League Team Successful Weekend

The Batesville Bulldogs 5th Grade traveled to Greensburg Jr. High on Sunday to begin the Dirt Road Basketball League 18’-19’ campaign and defense of their title.  In game one the Bulldogs pulled away from the Greensburg Pirates in the early part of the 2nd half by using stifling defense and excellent passing to go on a 16-2 run and win going away 42-17.  Brayden Maple led the squad in scoring with 13, William Kuisel 8, Cayden Drake 6, Caleb Mohr 5, Landon Raver 4, Lincoln Garrett 4 and Owen Enneking 2.

In game two the Bulldogs jumped all over North Decatur from the outset to win going away 47-7.  All players cracked the scoring column with Drake and Mohr leading the team with 8 each, Trenton Jordan 7, Raver 6, Kuisel 5, Maple 4, Garrett 4, Enneking 3 and Ethan Schneider 2.  The stifling team defense limited the Chargers to one made field goal.

Yesterday’s beginning to DRBL followed up a very successful fall league in which the team participated in at Triton Central High School.  The youngsters went 9-1 in league play against competition around Central Indiana.

The team (11-1) will be in action next Sunday, November 18th at Jac-Cen-Del High School where they will play Madison at 4:00 pm and Rising Sun at 5:00 pm.
