Bryan Mitchell Tabbed As Next Twisters Head Football Coach

Oldenburg Academy’s Athletic Director Patrick Kolks announced on Friday, March 26th that they have named Bryan Mitchell the Twisters head football coach.

Mitchell, who most recently was on the football coaching staff at Connersville High School, replaces Eric Feller who led the Twisters for the past 3 seasons.

“I am thankful for Mr. Kolks and Oldenburg Academy for giving me this opportunity to not just lead this program, but help grow it too.” Mitchell said.

Originally from Mason, OH, Mitchell spent his senior year of high school at Greensburg High School where he played football as a wide receiver. After high school, Mitchell went on to play at Anderson University where he obtained his Bachelor of Arts (History concentration). He has been teaching social studies at Connersville High School since 2015.

“I am very excited for Coach Mitchell and his staff. Coach Mitchell brings a lot of energy to the team and connects really well with the players. There will be some challenges along the way, but I feel Coach Mitchell is the perfect person for the job.” AD Patrick Kolks stated.

When asked what he liked about Oldenburg Academy Coach Mitchell said, “I like the small school and family atmosphere here at OA. I also like the opportunities that each student has at OA – academically and athletically. Kids that come here will have an opportunity right away to get some playing time at the varsity level. That’s a very unique opportunity as for most kids they don’t get that chance at every school.”

The Twisters will kick the season off vs Rock Creek Academy on August 20th at 7:00 PM.
