Brown County SP closed due to water issues

Nashville, IN—If you had plans to visit this week, you might want to rethink those plans.  Brown County State Park closed to the public Monday evening today due to a lack of usable water caused by the heavy rainfall over the last several days.

The park will remain closed to the public thru today. Any decisions about closure beyond today are day-to-day.

The park’s water source is Ogle Lake. Water drawn from the lake is treated through the park’s in-house facility.  The significant rain has also caused the soil to mix in the water, increasing water turbidity and therefore reducing the systems treatment time.  All campers and Inn guests were notified of the closing.
