Brookville, In. — The Indiana Department of Transportation has announced plans to overlay an eight-span bridge on St. Mary’s Road west of Brookville. Muncie-based R.A. Myers Construction has been awarded the contract valued at $453,232 that includes the deck overlay, new joints, approaches and will begin in early June.
The contract includes a 3/8-inch polymeric deck overlay in two lifts on the 815-foot long structure—adding flint chips to provide proper coefficient of friction for optimum maneuverability and stopping capabilities.
Temporary signals on either side of the bridge will permit one-direction-at-a-time single lane traffic flow at the bridge.
