Brent M. Gesell, age 41, of Brookville, died Friday, February 9, 2024.
Born January 26, 1983 in Oxford, Ohio, he was the loving son of Jackie (Boggs) Gesell. He grew up in Brookville, where he attended school and was a top athlete in wrestling and football, eventually transferring to Union County High School where he graduated in 2001. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy right after high school, and served as a gunners mate in Iraq until his discharge in 2005.
He worked in Concrete Construction for several years. In his leisure time he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gardening, and working outside.
He was united in marriage to Bambi Nicholson, and she survives.
Besides his wife, Bambi, survivors include a son, Dominic Gesell of Liberty, Indiana; his sister Britney Gesell of Brookville, Indiana; his mother & step-father, Jackie & Doug Gesell of Brookville, Indiana as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Merlin & Mildred Gesell, and Arnold & Anna Boggs, as well as three aunts, Phyllis Smith, Shirley Race and Deborah Smith.
Private services will be conducted with burial following in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Klemmes Corner, Indiana.
