Brenda Jean Utter, of Osgood

Take a moment to imagine the joy that Jesus brought to our sister in Christ and the glorious glow upon her face the second Jesus opened his arms to welcome her home.   Heaven called one of its angels home on Friday, June 15, 2018.  Brenda Jean Utter, 68 of Osgood passed away surrounded by her family.   Brenda was born on January 11, 1950 at the former Milan Hospital. Brenda was the daughter of Harley and Eula Mae (Miller) Utter.  In earlier years, she grew up with her brother Monte in Dillsboro, but later saw them move to New Richmond, Ohio.  Brenda attended school there until returning to the Mud Pike area and finishing high school at Jac-Cen-Del.  She was a graduate of the class of 1968.

After high school Brenda entered the work force and spent the next 40 years working for Delta Faucet in Greensburg.  Her work friends were like family to her and it enabled her to be able to provide for herself along with her daughter, Dena.

Brenda was a strong woman of faith, being a 40 year plus member of Osgood First Baptist Church.  A unique fact is Brenda would begin her day with a cup of coffee, caramel creamer,  2 tablespoons of sugar, an ink pen and a piece of paper.  She would then write a letter to God and daily scriptures.   She even copied the Bible.  Unbeknownst to all,  she was a real life Santa Claus as every year she would take her bonus check from work, call the school and ask what children could use a shining light. This is the person she was; the epitome of a caring Christian who made sure others had a small portion of the blessings which she had received.

Her greatest joy was her family; daughter, Dena, and grandchildren Lauren and Grant. She took pride in their accomplishments and her priority was to insure they were provided for in all ways.

She will be deeply missed by daughter, Dena Utter Lochard of Osgood; grandchildren, Lauren Lochard of Osgood, Grant Lochard of Versailles, along with brother, Monte (Debbie) Utter of Dillsboro.  Brenda was preceded in death by her parents along with sister-in-law Charlotte (Gayheart) Utter.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life on June 25, 2018, at 7:00 p.m. at the Osgood First Baptist Church, with doors opening at 6:00 p.m.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made out to the family in care of Neal’s Funeral Home.
