Brenda Darlene Wainscott, 76, of Greendale, IN, passed away on Thursday, February 6th, 2025 at St. Elizabeth Dearborn Hospital. Brenda was born in Milan, Indiana on April 18, 1948, a daughter of the late Wanda Marie (Gulley) Wainscott and Marion W. “Bill” Wainscott. She was a graduate of Rising Sun High School, Class of 1966. Brenda worked as a quality control manager at Nielson Printing in Florence, KY. She also formerly worked for Campbell-Hausfeld in Harrison, OH. Brenda enjoyed helping people and she especially loved the Christmas holidays and cooking for family and friends. Brenda had beautiful handwriting and created elegant works of calligraphy. Brenda also loved poetry and could recite many poems by heart and also wrote her own. Her love of her dogs was ever present, with her latest being, Autumn. Brenda had a heavenly voice and enjoyed singing at the Greendale First Church of Christ. Even though health prevented her from attending in later years, her faith remained strong and steadfast.
Brenda is survived by her loving cousin and caregiver, Terry Walton (Lora), of Greendale, IN; by her treasured niece, Jennifer Rae Lagoy (Chris), of East Enterprise, IN; by her great nieces, Morgan Cloutier and Madison Cloutier; by her great nephews, Max Cloutier and Wyatt Lagoy; by her best friend, Kris Smith, of Canton, OH and by many cousins, other family members and friends. Brenda was preceded in death by her mother, Wanda Wainscott; by her father, Bill Wainscott; by her brother, Rickie Ray Wainscott and by her infant brother, Kenneth Wainscott.
Funeral services will be 1:00 PM, Friday, February 14th, 2025 at Markland Funeral Home in Rising Sun, IN. Visitation will be held 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Friday, February 14th at Markland Funeral Home. Burial will be at Rising Sun New Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to P.A.W.S. of Dearborn County.
