Braun to be Sworn in As Governor

Mike Braun.

(Indianapolis, IN) – Mike Braun takes the oath of office today as Indiana’s 52nd governor.

He succeeds term-limited Governor Eric Holcomb after winning the election in November.

In his first year in office, Braun is hoping to help Hoosiers gain meaningful relief when it comes to their property taxes. This would include some caps on property taxes depending on whether you are retired or not. Braun is also hoping to exempt retirement income from taxation.

Braun defeated Democratic nominee Jennifer McCormick and Libertarian nominee Donald Rainwater with 54-percent of the vote compared to McCormick’s 41-percent and Rainwater’s four-percent.

Republicans have held the office of governor since Mitch Daniels won the 2004 election.

Micah Beckwith will take the oath as Lt. Governor. Todd Rokita will once again be sworn in as Attorney General.
