(Indianapolis, IN) – Fresh off securing the Republican nomination for Indiana Governor in the Primary Election, U.S. Sen. Mike Braun has tapped State Rep. Julie McGuire as his running mate.
McGuire is in her first term representing House District 93, which includes portions of Marion County.
If she becomes Lt. Gov., McGuire will have to vacate her seat in the legislature, according to state statute.
After winning Tuesday’s six-candidate primary, Braun will face Democrat Jennifer McCormick and Libertarian Donald Rainwater in the November General Election.
