BATESVILLE, IN — The bat signal was put out…to remove a bat.

A Batesville family was ducking for cover after a bat got into their home Friday night, which prompted them to call police for help.

A Batesville Police Department Facebook post says Officer Haylie Brown answered the call and captured the bat, which was safely released outside the home and flew away unharmed.

The department says this is Officer Brown’s first successful bat capture.
