Boys basketball season tips off prior to Thanksgiving

Here are some boys basketball recaps from Monday, November 22 through Wednesday, November 24.  Information for other games will be added when it becomes available.

South Decatur fell in Seymour to Trinity Lutheran, 79-71.

The Cougars lost by eight despite the 42 point, 10 rebounds effort of Hunter Johnson.  Fellow Cougar Jacob Scruggs scored 20.

South Dearborn defeated Rising Sun 51-33. 

Eli Hoffman’s 19 points led the Knights.  Teammate Reese Willoughby scored 14 and his brother Ryan had nine.

Southwestern Hanover beat Madison 82-61. 

The Rebels got 21 points from Mitch Mingione, 17 points and six rebounds and five assists from Zach Cole, 14 points, five boards and three dishes from Parker Davis and a dozen points, half-dozen caroms, six steals and three assists from Colton Cloud.

Jackson Falconberry of Madison led all scorers with 30 points, eight rebounds and three blocked shots.  Teammate Henry Grote had 11 points and five boards.

Southwestern hit 59 percent from the field and held Madison to 37 percent.

Waldron downed Crothersville 66-45. 

For the Mohawks, Bryce Yarling poured in 25.  Teammates Lucas Mitchell and Lucas Shaw scored 16 and 11 respectively.  Mitchell had nine boards and three steals.  Shaw secured seven boards.  Bryant Becker only scored two points but recorded 13 points, eight assists and three steals.

Other pre-Thanksgiving results:

  • Connersville crushed Union County 55-12.
  • Rushville lost to Shelbyville 61-35.
  • Triton Central bested Morristown 52-24.
  • Greensburg beat county foe North Decatur 64-44.
  • Edinburgh was a 74-59 winner over Southwestern Shelbyville.
  • Hauser got a 74-44 blowout win at Brown County.
