The following are boys basketball junior high recaps from December 1-3.
South Ripley’s seventh grade edged Madison 44-43.
The Raiders were down six at the half. Drew Volz had a game-high 23. Riley Lannan, Ethan Schmaltz and Brogan Buchanan followed with seven, six and five respectively.
Logan Ginnegan poured in 22 points for the Cubs.
The Jac-Cen-Del seventh beat Rising Sun 54-42.
Blake Wagner led the Eagles with 23 points, eight rebounds and four steals. Neil Sullivan tallied 13 points, five boards and three swipes while Darian Grishop added nine points and three steals.
The Shiners won the eighth grade game over the Eagles 32-18.
Lane Carroll’s seven points and six caroms were tops for JCD.
The Batesville seventh dominated Greendale 43-19.
Caleb Laker led the Bulldogs with 14 points. Kamryn Holcomb netted 10.
The BMS eighth graders lost by one to the Bengals 29-28.
Brayden Maple and Trenten Luers scored 14 and 10 respectively.
The St. Louis eighth also lost a tough game, falling to Franklin County 32-30.
The Cardinals fought back from a 22-9 deficit at halftime. For The Red Birds, David Koch had nine points. Both Adam Weber and Griff Koester contributed six.
Milan’s seventh grade won at East Central 21-13.
The Indians overcame an early deficit and rallied to win by eight.
The eighth grade Indians also beat the Trojans 34-27.
Milan improved to 8-2 thanks in part to 19 points from Micah Norman and 10 from Brady Alcorn 10.
