Bonnie Jo Wright, 69 of Dillsboro, passed away Wednesday February 1, 2017 peacefully among family after losing the battle of cancer at Kings Daughters’ Health at Madison. Bonnie was born Wednesday December 3, 1947 in Milan, IN; the daughter of Charles “Buck” and Frances (Cunningham) Stopher. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Dillsboro.
Bonnie liked cooking, listening to Elvis music, playing the piano and the organ, visiting the mountains with her family, having her cats around the house, but mostly she loved spending time with her family and friends.
Bonnie is survived by daughter: Anya Jo Ritter of Dillsboro; brother: George “Buddy” Stopher of Dillsboro; son-in-law: Chris Clift of Dillsboro; Lifelong friend: Nene Watson of Dillsboro; 2 Grandchildren: Renda Clift and Christopher Clift; 6 Great-Grandchildren: Kalyb, Karygan, Keltyn, Skyanne, Makiah, Aiden. She was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter: Rhonda Clift, sister: Ruth Koons, brother: Charles “Sonny” Stopher.
Funeral service will be 12 PM Monday February 6, 2017 at Filter-DeVries Funeral Home with Pastor Tom Holt officiating. Burial will follow in Rising Sun Cemetery. Visitation will be 10AM-12PM Monday also at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to the family.
