Body found at Metamora Wastewater Treatment Plant

Metamors, In. — Investigators from the Franklin County Sheriff’s Department and Indiana Occupational Safety and Health Administration are investigating the death of an independent contractor at the Metamora Wastewater Treatment Plant.

Family members of Mickey Lounsbury, 63, of Harrison, Ohio, notified officials Wednesday, January 9 around 6:30 p.m. that he was missing and could be at the facility. After finding Lounsbury’s vehicle on the property investigators soon found and recovered his body from a holding tank. Officials say the death was accidental.

Lounsbury conducted testing for the Metamora Wastewater Treatment Plant and sometimes worked alone.

“This is a tragic loss and our thoughts and condolences go out to the Lounsbury family.” said Franklin County Sheriff Peter Cates.
